12 Atlantic Sunrise WM_edited.jpg

"Atlantic Sunrise"

Only at the beach can you relax to "crashing" sounds of waves hitting the shore.  Sunrise is always a special time to contemplate what joys and blessings the new day will bring. (Oak Island, NC)

"Fall Pond"

A good friend asked me to paint a picture of his farm pond in Fayette County, PA.  The site visit and reference photos were taken in the summer when the surrounding forest was green but through the magic of artistic license the trees were transformed into their beautiful fall colors! (Fayette County, PA)

14 Jalenna's Mountain WM (2)_edited.jpg

"Jalenna's Mountain"

This is a commissioned painting of a beautiful overlook in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

"Autumn Glory"

A friend had some reference photos that he took at a fall lake in Western PA and asked if I could paint a scene for him.  The colors in our area are pretty spectacular.

19 McConnells Mill in Autumn WM_edited.jpg
29 Texas Hill Country Bluebells WM_edited.png

"Texas Hill Country Bluebells"

This is a commissioned scene of the Texas bluebell country.  The painting is composed of individual elements to lead the viewer from a beautiful field of bluebells along a winding path off to a distant even larger display of the beautiful blue and violet flowers.

"McConnell's Mill in Autumn"

A 19th century gristmill and autumn foliage make for a winning combination of history and beauty.  (McConnell's Mill, PA)

Studies & Artist Inspirations

Studying the works of master artists is an important part of growth in any artistic journey.

These studies were completed as learning exercises inspired by respected contemporary artists, workshops, and courses, and helped refine technique, composition, color relationships, and the understanding of landscape painting.

Because these works are based on original pieces by other artists, they are not available for sale or reproduction.

Study of a larger painting by Artist Scott Christensen titled 'Brooks Lake Runoff. '

Study of a painting by Artist Kimball Geisler titled 'Winter Relentless.'
